Lee Ryan, Director

Psychology

Lee Ryan is a Professor of Psychology and Neurology and the Director of the BIO5 Brain & Body Imaging Center.  Her research focuses on the neural basis of memory, how memory changes across the adult lifespan, how those changes relate to brain structure and function, and the early prediction, prevention, and treatment of Alzheimer’s Disease. These studies utilize multiple MRI methods including high-resolution volumetric imaging, functional MRI, perfusion imaging, and diffusion imaging.  She is particularly interested in the factors that influence individual differences in age-related cognitive functions and risk for Alzheimer’s disease, including cardiovascular function, genetics, health, and lifestyle choices.
