Dr. Elizabeth Hutchinson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Arizona, where she leads the Multi-Scale Brain Imaging Lab. Her research focuses on using pre-clinical imaging techniques, particularly MRI, to better understand brain disorders and develop translationally relevant imaging markers. With an educational background in the physical sciences and neuroscience, Dr. Hutchinson specializes in diffusion MRI methods and traumatic brain injury (TBI) models, having identified novel markers of brain pathology following trauma. Her research encompasses radiologic-pathologic correspondence studies, the development of processing tools for multi-brain studies, and the identification of imaging markers in human-similar models and fixed specimens. She continues to explore advanced neuroimaging approaches through translationally relevant models and pre-clinical imaging across various spatial scales and modalities.
